Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge

One of the most iconic film, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, has completed 25 years in the Bollywood industry. The most popular Indian romance film, which was directed by Aditya Chopra has won 10 Filmfare awards and a national award for best popular film at that time itself.

The plot of the movie revolves around two young people, Raj (Sharukh Khan) and Simran (Kajol) who fall in love on a trip to Europe with their friends. Although the movie is not about Sharukh and Kajol but it’s about Raj and Simran, the two most iconic characters of Bollywood.

Raj Malhotra and Simran Singh are non-resident Indians (NRI) who live in London. Simran was raised by her strict and conservative father, Baldev Singh (Amrish Puri) while Raj’s father Dharamvir Malhotra (Anupam Kher) is very flexible and easygoing.

Raj tries to flirt with Simran and later tries to win over her family so that they could get married, but Simran’s father had already fixed her marriage with his friend’s son. At the end of the trailer we can see how Raj fights for Simran and how her strict father also sees how much they both love eachother.

This film was shot in India, London and Switzerland. This movie is definitely a movie that you should watch before you die and is one of the longest running film in the history of Indian cinema.
