‘Safarnama’ literally means a ‘travelogue’ or ‘story of the journey’. The song is very aptly placed towards the end of the movie, when Ved hears his inner voice and finally understands what he’s made for. The song gives a ray of hope to all and tells us to find who we really are.

We, ourselves are our problem creators and problem solvers. It is within us to make or break oneself. The answers to all questions we have lie within ourselves, all we need to do is understand what we want from our life, who we really are, and what is our purpose in this life.

The song is kind of a moment of enlightenment or awakening for Ved when he finally understands himself. It is very aptly decribed in the lines “O jisey dhoonda zamaane me, Mujh hi mein tha”.

Having a fixed routine, being told what to do, how to act and how to behave since the beginning of time, turned Ved into a robot, not having any say in his own life. Finding oneself, having control over one’s life and being who you really are, is what Safarnama is all about. It makes us realise our destination in life and what we want our journey to be like. Its simply tells us that sometimes we hold the solutions to life’s trickiest problems, all it takes is a little courage to follow your heart.
